- Data minimization: We collect only the data necessary for the respective purpose.

3. Data Collected & Purposes
We collect and process the following categories of personal data, only to the extent necessary for the specified purpose:

The processing of your data is based on the following legal grounds: Contract performance (Art. 31(2)(a) DSG), legitimate interest (Art. 31(1) DSG), and your explicit consent where required.
4. Order Processing & Contract Performance
Your personal data (name, address, email, payment information) is used exclusively for processing your order, fulfilling the purchase contract, and complying with legal obligations (in particular accounting and retention obligations).
Without the mandatory information required for order processing, we are unable to process and deliver your order. Providing this data is therefore a prerequisite for concluding the contract.
After your order has been fully processed, your data will be stored for the duration of the statutory retention periods and then deleted (see Section 10).
5. Disclosure to Third Parties
We do not disclose your personal data to third parties without your express consent, unless this is necessary for the fulfillment of the contract or required by law.
To process your order, we transmit the necessary data to the following categories of recipients, in each case only to the minimum extent necessary:
- Shipping service providers (e.g., Swiss Post, DPD): Name, shipping address, and, if applicable, phone number for delivery notification
- Payment service providers (e.g., credit card companies, PayPal): Payment-related data for transaction processing
- IT service providers: Operation and maintenance of the shop systems (subject to confidentiality obligations)
- Authorities: To the extent required by law (e.g., tax authorities, law enforcement agencies upon lawful order)
All contracted service providers are contractually obligated to comply with data protection regulations and to treat your data confidentially. Data is not disclosed to third parties for advertising purposes.
Data is only transferred abroad if the recipient country ensures an adequate level of data protection or if appropriate safeguards are in place (e.g., standard contractual clauses).
6. Cookies & Tracking
Our online stores use cookies—small text files that are stored on your device. Cookies allow us to recognize your settings on your next visit, save shopping carts, and display pre-filled forms so that you do not have to fill them out completely again.
We distinguish between the following cookie categories:
- Essential Cookies: Technically necessary for the operation of the shop (e.g., shopping cart, session, login). These cannot be disabled, as the shop will not function otherwise.
- Functional Cookies: Save your preferences (e.g., language, wish list) for a more convenient visit.
- Analytics cookies: Help us understand and improve the use of the shop. These are only set with your consent.
- Marketing cookies: Are only set with your explicit consent.
You can restrict or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. Please note that disabling necessary cookies may impair the functionality of the shop.
7. Analytics & Marketing Services
To improve our online shops, we may use web analytics services. In doing so, usage data (pages visited, time spent on site, technical device data) is analyzed to optimize the shopping experience.
To the extent that personal data is processed in this context, this is done based on your consent (cookie banner) or, in the case of anonymized analysis, based on our legitimate interest in improving our services.
We do not use any services that create personal profiles for advertising purposes without your consent. The analytics services used in the individual stores are listed in detail in the store’s respective cookie policy.
8. Newsletter & Email Marketing
We send newsletters and promotional emails only on the basis of your explicit consent, which you may revoke at any time (opt-in procedure). When you subscribe to a newsletter, your email address and the time of registration are stored.
You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time—via the unsubscribe link in each newsletter or by emailing mail@b-tool.ch. Unsubscribing does not affect the processing of data necessary for order fulfillment.
9. Data Security
We take appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or destruction. These include, among other things:
- Encrypted data transmission via SSL/TLS (indicated by “https://” in the address bar)
- Restricting access to personal data to necessary personnel
- Regular review and updating of security measures
- Contractual obligation of all service providers regarding data security
In the event of a data breach that is likely to result in a high risk to your rights and freedoms, we will notify you and the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) in accordance with legal requirements.
10. Retention Period
We store your personal data only for as long as necessary for the respective purpose or as required by statutory retention periods:
- Order data and invoices: 10 years (statutory accounting obligation pursuant to the Swiss Code of Obligations)
- Customer account data: For the duration of the active customer account; within 30 days of a deletion request, provided that no statutory retention obligations preclude this
- Communication data (inquiries, complaints): 3 years from the conclusion of the matter
- Newsletter data: Until consent is revoked
- Technical log data: Typically 30 to 90 days
- Cookie data: According to the durations displayed in the cookie banner
After the respective retention period expires, your data will be deleted or anonymized in such a way that it can no longer be linked to you.
