The mount is designed for helmets without "cutouts" for ear protectors or where the slot is aligned with the helmet rim. It is equipped with an additional rubber piece that seals the gap between the mount and the helmet rim to prevent rain, sawdust, and other particles from falling between the mount and the helmet.
