HULTAFORS Hunting and Forestry Axe DVARDALA 0.7 (841780)

Dvardala is a perfect axe for hunting and forestry. It is a combination of several different axe types, ideal for a day in the forest where you may encounter a variety of challenges. It has the same head type as the Hultafors Åby Forest Axe, but the handle is 440 mm (17 inches) shorter, making the axe easier to carry, e.g., in a backpack. The shorter handle also makes it easier to work with the axe close to your body. The axe is suitable for precision work such as carving or building shelters, fire pits, and other items around a campsite. This is ensured by a well-proportioned handle notch and a semi-straight cutting edge with a flat and wide bevel. The handle groove allows you to grip the axe directly at the head, enabling you to work with maximum control. The semi-straight cutting edge has flatter flanks, so the axe rests firmly on the workpiece when you chop along a piece of wood. Nevertheless, the curvature of the cutting edge is sufficient to use the axe for lighter forestry work such as clearing a path or cutting a firebreak. The head is slightly thicker at the sides, giving it good splitting ability, making it also excellent for chopping firewood. Dvardala is a gift appreciated by hunters around the world and naturally proves useful when processing game in the field. The axe is hand-forged in our Hults Bruk forge according to our traditions dating back to 1697. The head weighs 0.7 kg and is made from Swedish CO2-neutral axe steel. The semi-straight blade features a premium Scandinavian grind, is polished, razor-sharp, and ready for use. The curved, narrow handle of the axe features a pronounced pommel, ensuring a secure grip. The sheath is made in Sweden from the hides of Swedish cows and produced with the utmost consideration for the animals and the environment. The leather is vegetable-tanned full-grain leather for the best possible durability. The natural treatment ensures that it ages beautifully over time. The axe takes its name from the old name for the forest area north of Hults Bruk, Dvardala. This is where the Kolmården forest begins, and from Mount Borgar in Dvardala, you have a fantastic view of the area, which is known for its excellent hunting conditions for both red deer and wild boar. Take good care of your axe, and it will be a faithful companion for many years to come. We are very proud of the craftsmanship and quality of our axes and offer a lifetime warranty on the axe head.
