The name of our classic hunting axe comes from the blacksmith Gunnar Ekelund, who, inspired by a trip to the USA in the years 1870–75, drove the production of axes on a larger scale. Like all our axes, the Ekelund is hand-forged and made from high-quality Swedish steel. As part of the head-forging process, the steel axe head is struck 40–60 times, which increases its density and extends its durability.
